Celebrating World Vitiligo Day 2024: Spreading Awareness and Empowerment
June 24, 2024On World Vitiligo Day 2025, we stand together to recognize, support, and empower those living with vitiligo—a condition that affects not just the skin, but the confidence, emotions, and social lives of millions around the world. This day is not just about awareness—it’s a movement of empathy, science, and transformation.
At the heart of this movement in India is Maharshi Vitiligo Research Centre (MVRC)—a pioneering institution led by one of the most trusted names in vitiligo care, Dr. Sanjay Dubey. With a career spanning over 25 years, Dr. Dubey has dedicated his life to the cause of vitiligo and has successfully treated over 1,00,000 patients globally. His work has touched lives not just across India, but in countries like the USA, Canada, France, and Germany.
Dr. Sanjay Dubey’s Journey: From a Vision to a National Impact
In 1998, Dr. Sanjay Dubey began his dermatology practice in Indore, where he quickly recognized that vitiligo patients needed more than just medication—they needed a voice, a safe space, and dedicated care. Moved by their struggles and social exclusion, he shifted his entire focus to vitiligo and established India’s first dedicated clinic for vitiligo treatment in 2000.
What began as a single clinic has today grown into India’s largest chain of vitiligo treatment centers, with 11 fully-equipped MVRC clinics across cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad. His belief has always remained firm—Vitiligo is Treatable, and every patient deserves not only effective care but dignity and understanding.
Innovation with Purpose: Home Phototherapy that Heals Beyond Borders
Understanding the barriers many patients face in accessing consistent treatment—especially during the COVID-19 pandemic—Dr. Dubey took a revolutionary step. He developed the MVRC Home Phototherapy Booth, a user-friendly, safe, and scientifically validated solution that allows patients to undergo phototherapy from the comfort of their homes.
Today, this innovation is being used by vitiligo patients worldwide. It has become a cornerstone of MVRC’s mission to provide accessible, non-steroidal, and effective vitiligo treatment—anytime, anywhere.
Changing Mindsets: Educating to End the Stigma
This World Vitiligo Day, MVRC continues its mission not only to treat vitiligo but to eradicate the myths and misinformation that surround it. Vitiligo is not contagious, it is not caused by poor hygiene, and most importantly, it is treatable with the right approach and expertise.
Through educational initiatives, community outreach, and digital awareness campaigns, MVRC is working tirelessly to ensure vitiligo is no longer seen as a limitation—but as a condition that can be managed, treated, and accepted without judgment.
Together, We Add Color to Lives
At Maharshi Vitiligo Research Centre, every patient is seen, heard, and healed—not just physically, but emotionally. On World Vitiligo Day 2025, we reaffirm our commitment to every person walking through our doors, virtual or physical.
Let us come together to spread awareness, empathy, and empowerment. Let us celebrate the resilience of those living with vitiligo and honor the journey of transformation they undertake.
Together, we don’t just treat skin—we restore hope.
Because vitiligo is not the end of your story. It’s the beginning of a brighter, more colorful one.
